Loop Thermosyphon Cooling System

Loop Thermosyphon Cooling System

Maintenance-free, passive two-phase cooling system without mechanical pumps. Enables zero-loss long-distance heat transport for remote thermal architectures.

A thermosyphon is an advanced passive heat exchange technology that relies entirely on natural convection to circulate fluid — without mechanical pumps. The cooling medium circulates independently in a closed loop via phase change and gravity. Equivalent thermal conductivity reaches 8,000–35,000 W/m·K, surpassing pure aluminum by 50 to 100 times.

Ideal for decoupled cooling architectures where the heat source is isolated from the condenser — e.g. outdoor cabinets, inverters, 5G base stations, and server racks. The system operates completely noiselessly, without mechanical failure modes, and with zero parasitic power draw. Multiple heat sources can be combined in a single loop.

System Structure

  • Evaporator: Evaporator side with boiling enhancement structure. Absorbs heat from the source and vaporizes the internal fluid — the core heat absorption element.
  • Rising Tube (Riser): Connects evaporator and condenser. Channels the rising vapor upward to the condenser with minimal flow resistance.
  • Condenser: Cools the vapor back to liquid state and releases absorbed heat to the environment. Optimized fin pitch for maximum heat transfer.
  • Falling Tube (Downcomer): Returns condensed fluid back to the evaporator via gravity, completing the natural circulation. No pump, no moving parts, no maintenance.
